Ingredients(serves one)

  • 100g standard white flour
  • 1 egg
  • 200cc cold water
  • Favourite ingredients (prawns, vegetables, etc.)
  • Oil for deep-frying


  1. Prepare the ingredients. Shell the prawns, leaving their tails. Remove their back veins.
  2. To make the batter; mix the egg and cold water in a bowl and add the flour in three parts.
  3. Pour the oil to a depth of 3/4 the height of a pot and over a medium flame heat to 170-180°C.
  4. Dip the ingredients into the batter and deep-fry.
  5. Remove the pieces from the oil and drain well. Arrange the tempura on a plate.
